Welcome to my website and thank you for your visit!
I set up this website to share with others the practices and understandings that I have found so helpful in my life. Working with the Goodwill Patterns has been central to my own growth and I invite you all to have a read and then let me know what you think. I love hearing from people who log on this website. You can join my e-mail list to be kept up to date with what I'm doing, order booklets or end up corresponding with me about the realities of working with the Goodwill Patterns. I am grateful to all the wonderful people who've responded to the material here, perhaps you're the next one. So please do let me know what you think.
Last year in this introduction I said I wanted 'to connect with the greatest of all dreams; that we find our way to live more harmoniously on this earth.' Well this dream is turning into a reality through the transitions town movement. I see this as the next stage in the Great Turning, so whilst many people are in fear, witnessing the collapse of the Industrial Growth Society, my heart sings to see all the signs that we are moving into a life-sustaining way of being on the planet.
Following an inspiring weekend with Fran and Joanna Macy where I met some of my fellow facilitators of the Work that Re-connects, I am offering a variety of workshops in this area - a Council of All Beings with Thierry De Winn and Suzanne Durante in Holland in August; then on 20th and 21st September, 'Healing our World, Healing Ourselves' in Saltburn near Middlesborough; and in October, Jane Sanders and I are running 'Finding Ourselves in Time: connecting with past and future beings' focusing on Deep Time work locally. If you want to go to a WTR workshop, please let me know as my role within the WTR facilitators' network is to connect facilitators in different areas with people who want to do this work. And if there is no-one else available I'm only too pleased to travel to do this work as I am this September in Saltburn.
My year as Bard of Glastonbury ended in May but I am now 'Elder Bard for poetry' of the Bardic Order of Ynys Witrin and give Bardic performances at events like the Glastonbury Symposium and the Annual Conference of The Library of Avalon. Strange Sisters, i.e. Jo Waterworth, Rachael Clyne and myself are also available for performances - our current show 'Acclimatising: poetry for transition' was produced for a Transition Glastonbury event . We've self-published these poems and if you'd like to order a copy please e-mail me and if you'd like to see us perform locally we're up for travelling. I still find performing terrifying but when I stand before an audience saying my poems I find the quality of attention deeply moving, I feel like I have at long last reached the place where my 'real' life, being the person I was meant to be all along, begins. The world is ready to hear what I have to say. I have stepped into my power.
So along with the Bardic showcases which I do individually and with the other Bards of the Ynys Witrin, I offer 'Celebrating our Creativity' workshops and circles. Where I grew up in rural Northern Ireland, individual creativity was celebrated, everyone had their 'piece'. I see the revival of this aural tradition and the valuing of our innate creativity is an important element in these Turning Times. I envisage combining creativity workshops with Bardic performance so if you run an event at which you'd like me to appear, please let me know.
And in the midst of all these exciting events and developments, I am still writing away and praying for a publisher! Blessings on your path. Please write and let me know what you think. It's always lovely to hear from you.
